Draco Hits the Stage: Tom Felton to Star in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

 Tom Felton, renowned for his portrayal of Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter film series, is set to reprise his iconic role on Broadway in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.  This marks Felton's Broadway debut and the first time an original cast member from the films has joined the stage adaptation. 

Felton's 19-week engagement will run from November 11, 2025, to March 22, 2026, at New York City's Lyric Theatre.  Coincidentally, Felton will be the same age as his character, Draco, in the play—37 years old—adding a layer of authenticity to his performance.  He expressed his excitement, stating, "It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoes — and of course his iconic platinum blond hair — and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world"  .

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set 19 years after the events of the original series, focusing on the next generation of wizards, including Albus Severus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy.  The play has been lauded for its storytelling and stagecraft, becoming the highest-grossing non-musical in Broadway history  .
